With Deposit Anywhere™, you can quickly and securely deposit cheques with your smartphone or tablet, from anywhere, day or night.

You can deposit upto 10 free cheques per month and it is just as secure as depositing your cheque a branch.  Plus, it’s fast! Most people complete their deposit in less than a minute. So whether you’re at coffee with friends, at work, or staying up late to get your banking done—any time is the right time to deposit cheques.  

Here’s how it works:

  1. Open the RCU Mobile Banking app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap “Deposit"
  3. Select your account and enter the amount
  4. Snap a photo of the front and back of your cheque
  5. Confirm the details and tap “Submit”. That's it!
*Please note that cheques deposited must be in Canadian funds drawn on a Canadian financial institution and made out to the depositor. Some cheques will have standard holds placed on them before access to funds is granted.

What is Deposit Anywhere™?
Deposit Anywhere™ is a feature offered within RCU’s mobile banking app. It allows mobile app users to deposit Canadian cheques by taking a photo of them and submitting them to RCU, anywhere, anytime, quickly and securely.

How do I get it?
Deposit Anywhere™ is a feature on the Rosenort Credit Union mobile banking app, which is available for Apple and Android devices. You can find it by searching for “Rosenort Credit Union” in the App Store.

What devices are compatible with Deposit Anywhere™?

  • iPhones, iPods, iPads.
  • Android smartphones and tablets.

Are there any fees for using it?

There are no fees when using Deposit Anywhere™ for the first 10 deposits/month.   Each subsequent deposit will be $0.50.

Is depositing cheques with a mobile phone safe?
Yes – Deposit Anywhere™ and all features on our mobile app meet the same high standards as our online banking services.

What types of cheques can I deposit?
Currently, only cheques payable in Canadian Dollars and from Canadian financial institutions can be deposited. They must be payable to and endorsed by the account holder.

How long does it take for my money to be available in my account?
Similar to in-branch or ATM deposits, standard holds on items may apply and funds may require up to 2 business days to clear.

What should I do with my cheque afterwards?
Once you have submitted the cheque using Deposit Anywhere™ you do not need to send it to us. You are required to keep it for 90 days and then you must destroy it within 120 days.

How many cheques can be deposited?
There is no limit to the number of cheques that can be deposited.

Is there a limit on the amount of the deposit?
No, there is not a daily deposit limit.

What happens if I enter the wrong amount by mistake?
No worries, mistakes happen. We double check all deposit information to ensure the correct amount is being deposited to your account. Please contact us if you notice a mistake once the cheque has cleared.

How will I know if there is an issue after depositing my cheque?
In the rare circumstance that there is an issue with the deposit, we will contact you directly or you can contact us.
